WILDERNESS
Most of what was wild
Has been stamped out
Tamed
Controlled
Still I am told
There are wild things
Which brave the urban blight
Racoons
Snakes
Spiders
Rabbits
Coyote
All kinds of bugs
I am told there is one rat
For each citizen
In New York City
And of course
There are all kinds
Of wild things
Once called humans
Lose in the city
What is wild
Out of the ordinary
Those with a different point of view

Humans manifest wildness in may varied ways unlike animals bent on filling their stomachs. Brainy humans will plead cheat and kill even if they are not hungry!
