Prompt: Write a bright poem or a dark poem
#2

CONTRAST
In the visual world
When the artist
Wishes the viewer to
See one thing
He must show the other
For the viewer knows
Nothing

To show brightness
Dullness must be shown
A bright color used next
To a dull color
Will make the bright color
Look brighter

Until Matisse discovered
Dark could show light
Dark was always used
To show dark
The key is to show
Contrast

In my own work
I am contrasting
Light to Dark
Bright to dull
Warm to cool
And back again

  1. smiles…you can do some interesting things with contrast…and darkness can show light i like it when artists turn things on us making us look at them in new ways…

    1. It just started happening, without control…sometimes it happens that way. Whoever knows what we will write? Whoever knows what we think? I think that is why I write. Thanks for your comment. I wonder if the idea that we have to “show” everything, relates to writing, and we have to tell everything? Maybe not….? Annell Livingston HC 74 Box 21860 El Prado, NM 87529
