One daily observation.
Taos Mountain reigns over the valley. She is the Mother Mountain. In the shadow of the mountain, we are reminded all will be OK.
Poets United prompt Night time

Night descends over Taos Mountain
End of day
Eternal cycle
Man and animal lay down to rest
Church bells toll
Time of prayer
Work is done
Fear and worry
Tucked under the pillow
Tomorrow will come
The sun will rise
Over the mountain
As it has for all times

Theme Thursday prompt Country
New Mexico
Country found between
Texas and Arizona
Land of enchantment
It is a place to be
The perfect place
Within the heart
The heart that is your own

*Note: Thank you Neil Reid for the words of the “heart.” Inspired by his poem “Being.”
tucking mine under my pillow…smiles.
Thanks for your comment. It must be where we keep them, have you noticed when awakened in the night, they return quickly? Annell Livingston HC 74 Box 21860 El Prado, NM 87529

Beautiful images and words Annell. That first looks like the mountain is wearing a halo, and you call her mother. Makes so much sense,

So peaceful and lovely, the serenity of living near Taos Mountain – the photos are fantastic. The experience of reading the poem and viewing the photos was like a little mini-vacation, it lifted my heart! Thank you.
